Unicorn hair, rose gold hair, ombré hair… Just when you thought you’d seen pretty much everything hair colour had to offer, celebrity colourist Josh Wood took things to a whole new level backstage at Mary Katrantzou’s autumn/winter 2019 show. He introduced “patterned” hair: the poetically-named “horizon colour and “colour clouds”.

“Ruffles and truffles, volume and pattern: that was part of the brief. It’s a first for me to create a pattern in hair, using hair extensions,” Wood, who used Redken City Beats to create the multi-hued looks, told us. “Elemental colour that was diffused by the models’ natural tone. Clouds of rain, storm blue, peach, periwinkle, pale azure… They’re next-level festival tones.”
